Honduras and Hydroelectric Energy

Hydropower or hydroelectric energy converts the water’s potential energy into mechanical energy through the use of turbines; it is then converted into electricity through a generator. Hydropower is the largest source of renewable energy in the world; approximately 20% of the electricity comes from hydropower. Hydropower is one of the primary sources of energy that has been used to produce electricity in Central America.

Investors Visit to Agua Zarca Project

Last March this year, took place a visit by a group of foreign investors in the site which will be erected Hydroelectric Project "Water Zarca."

The visit took place under an investment agreement which would provide fresh capital to continue the project.

DESA as a socially responsible company has among its objectives to support communities in the area of influence of Agua-Zarca Hydroelectric Project.
